Diplomatic Relations
Diplomatic relations between Japan and South Korea were formally established on December 18, 1965, under the Treaty on Basic Relations Between Japan and the Republic of Korea. Over the years, the relationship has seen significant cooperation in trade, technology, and cultural exchanges. Key areas of cooperation include economic development, regional security, and cultural exchange.
