Diplomatic Relations
Diplomatic relations between Tanzania and South Korea were officially established on April 30, 1992. This cooperation began as part of South Korea's broader strategy to engage with African nations, driven by the need to counter North Korea's influence and to secure its own membership in the United Nations. Over the years, the relationship has grown stronger, marked by high-level visits and increased economic and cultural exchanges. Notably, in 2017, Tanzania opened its embassy in Seoul, further solidifying the bilateral ties. The cooperation has been particularly close in areas such as trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
