Diplomatic Relations
Diplomatic relations between Thailand and South Korea were officially established on October 1, 1958. The cooperation began as Thailand was one of the first countries to recognize the newly independent Republic of Korea in 1949. During the Korean War, Thailand was the second nation to send troops to support South Korea, with over 10,000 soldiers. This historical support laid a strong foundation for their relationship.
