Diplomatic Relations
Diplomatic relations between Ukraine and South Korea were officially established on February 10, 1992. This cooperation began shortly after Ukraine declared its independence from the Soviet Union on August 24, 1991. South Korea recognized Ukraine as a sovereign state on December 30, 1991. Over the years, the relationship has grown stronger, marked by high-level visits and increased economic and cultural exchanges. Notably, the opening of the Embassy of South Korea in Kyiv in 1992 and the Embassy of Ukraine in Seoul in 1997 were significant milestones. The cooperation has been particularly close in areas such as trade, investment, and technology.
